HELPFUL HINTS

 MAKE YOUR BRIMFIELD EXPERIENCE CAREFREE

For all:

Carry on your person emergency contact numbers in case of accident or injury.

Write a phone number on your key chain and glasses. Don't think you won't lose them!

Always wear comfortable shoes & clothing. Layer up or down as the temperatures change. Remember that hat, sunscreen, boots & umbrella. Replenish fluids regularly.

Do you have your cell phone charger? Auto club, ATM & insurance cards?

If you lose your cell phone, call it. Someone might have found it.

Not everyone will take your check or credit card. Some will deal only with cash or travelers checks.

For the dealer:

Be specific when you say I am going to Brimfield. Let others know, who may need to reach you, what field you will be setting up on and your space number. If you have a motel or campsite give them that info.

Always give a "pick up later" customer a receipt with the name of the show, your name & your booth.

If you're roughing it, remember your toiletries & towels. Need I say clothes also?

Forget about the popup canopy. You need a sturdy staked down tent to handle Brimfield's ever changing weather.

For the public:

Most shows are next to or across from one another for nearly a mile. When you have found a parking place make careful note of location. Ask attendant for the name of the lot or field. If you do not, 20 fields & hours later you may not have any idea where to go.

If planning to see specific dealers, know their locations & setup dates.

Carry some tissues. Those port-o-potties may run out of paper right before you need them.

ALWAYS get a receipt if you are picking up merchandise later. Be sure it shows the field, dealer name and space number. Verify what time the dealer will close. Thousands have gotten lost trying to make their way back to the dealer by the barn, fence or brook. You should get one anyway in case you find a problem with a guaranteed piece. Write the same if you are thinking about stopping back later.

Most dealers are happy to haggle. You'll find them more receptive to.. Will you accept?...Can you do better? NOT I'll give you.

Happy shopping!
